Are you an experienced and skilled Electrical Engineer seeking a new opportunity? We're looking for an experienced production Electrical Engineer who will play a significant role in designing and implementing various technical aspects of multiple projects. Your expertise will be utilized within a talented team, contributing to mentorship, quality control, technical excellence, and peer reviews. The projects that you will be involved in vary from residential, commercial, office, institutional, light industrial, and more. Local experience is a must, along with exceptional client management and technical design skills.
Responsibilities
Serve as the engineer-of-record for projects in BC of up to ‘medium’ size and complexity
Work within project budgets and schedules, advising Team Leads on schedules and project budgets
Independently design lighting and lighting controls, power systems, data layouts, and life-safety systems
Perform electrical calculations for power usage, lighting levels, power density, fault currents, equipment sizing, etc.
Prepare drawings suitable for building permits, tenders, and construction
Efficiently meet project deliverables and deadlines through timely design
Independently perform construction administration tasks, such as attending field reviews, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing site instructions and change orders
Coordinate with other disciplines and utility providers to provide seamless services to the site
Attend client meetings, liaise with clients and colleagues, and uphold professionalism
Provide technical mentorship to EITs and Technologists
Stay up-to-date with industry and technical trends, contributing to quality, process, and technical standards
Support the expansion of KDE for business development in other provinces
Coordinate electrical inspection services and prepare complete technical report writing
Report to Electrical Team Lead in BC and AB, as required
Qualifications
Post-secondary degree in electrical engineering or diploma in electrical engineering technology
4+ years of relevant work experience
Registered P.Eng. is preferred but not limited
Experience in client management and technical design
Knowledge in Canadian Electrical Code and Building Codes
Good verbal and written communication skills are a must-have. Additionally, excellent interpersonal skills are highly valued
Experience with AutoCAD is strongly preferred, Revit experience is a strong asset
MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required; advanced knowledge is an asset
Experience with lighting design software
Experience with Bluebeam Revu is an asset
Construction or project management experience is an asset
Good oral and written communication skills in English are required
A valid driver's license
Proven organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail
Must be proactive and able to work in a dynamic work environment
