Electrical Supervisor

Job Description

Be a part of the initial team to grow and operate a regionally significant new underground mine development that is rapidly becoming the future of the iconic Red Lake gold mining district in Ontario, Canada.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Supervisor will work 14 days on and 14 days off supporting underground and Mine operations by ensuring that there is a supply of power to all areas while following safe work procedures to provide overall production and safe target support for the Red Lake Madsen Mine team.

The focus of this role will include:

• Ensures underground, hoist plant, surface and mill electrical maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Ontario) and Regulations and environmental standards.
  • Complies with all safety requirements and observes all company policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the development of production targets and ensures production targets are met or exceeded based on equipment availability.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with Contractors, Suppliers and Service Providers, and ensures adherence to contractual requirements.
  • Develops a sense of continuous improvement and ensures appropriate training programs are conducted and followed.
  • Interfaces with other Supervisors and the Management team.
  • Reviews equipment efficiencies.
  • Leads direct employees to achieve planned results.
  • Completes daily, weekly, and monthly safety compliances.
  • Other duties as assigned, which may change over the course of the project

 
Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of five years’ experience in underground and processing work environments.
  • Supervisory common core.
  • Journeyman certification.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills to develop and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse workforce.
  • Instills a “team” approach in working with other operating departments.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Good problem solving and decision-making skills as well as superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Good Computer skills Microsoft office, CMMS software.
  
  

Physical requirements: 

Handling heavy loads, physically demanding, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, standing for extended periods of time. Bending, crouching, and kneeling.
