We are committed to powering Canadian infrastructure in an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient way and are looking to hire passionate individuals who are enthusiastic about shaping the future of Eaton.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\n \n\nEaton\u2019s Milton site is currently seeking an Electrical Tester for the Afternoon shift. \n\nPrimary Function: \n\n * Perform test of functional operation of ATS, Panelboards, Switchboards, and any potential new product. Perform final electrical inspection; ensuring products are functioning correctly, safely and meet quality requirements before approving for shipment. \n * Essential Functions/Position Requirements \n * Inspect components and sub-assemblies for conformance to drawings, specifications, and applicable standards. Verify dimensions, routing, wire, clearance and accuracy of manufacturing information. \n * Work from blueprints, specifications, wiring diagrams or schematics and written or verbal instructions from supervision/engineering department. \n * Inspect coordination between the manufactured units and other equipment (transformers, MCC, etc.) \n * Perform inspection of bus bar (quantity and size); support bracing and proper bus to bus clearance. \n * Electrical inspection of devices such as breaker, switches, meters and IQ data. Verify correct assembly when applicable. \n * Perform electrical functional test and/or testing to simulate field conditions. Troubleshoot and identify rework required to address the issue(s). \n * Develop expertise in: Product styles, control schemes, Magnum DS Breakers, Hydro bus ducts, mechanical and electrical interlock schemes; PLC functionality, electrical circuits, controller operation and custom programming, testing of communication wiring and ground fault schemes/protection/relays. \n * Perform high potential dielectric. \n * Perform final inspection on complete assemblies (Final \u201csign-off\u201d). Approve unit for shipment to customer. \n * Perform incoming inspection to components from suppliers or customers (RMA\u2019s) that require testing and or have critical requirements determined by engineering (clearances, safety requirements, dimensions). Update systems as required. \n * Support shop floor on raising issues on non-conforming product. \n * Perform inspection to non-conforming components. Provide input for disposition of components. \n * Actively participate on quality processes such as: Quality holds, Quality alerts, Rework of assemblies and calibration. \n * Participate in the deployment of quality initiatives on the shop floor including Root Cause Analysis \n * Provide inputs and recommendations regarding product and process improvement. Develop processes as required. \n * Resolve manufacturing test and quality problems through interaction with appropriate personnel. \n * Provide assistance and guidance to the assembly operation and engineering on problem solving, trouble shooting and sequence of orders. \n * Document and maintain inspection and test records/ Test and Inspection database. \n * Assemble and wire products as required for all product lines: \n * Build mechanism assembly. \n * Ensure proper torque of bus and phase connectors. \n * Wiring and wire crimping. \n * Perform other duties as assigned. \n * Ability to work 3:30pm-12:00am shift time. \n\n\n\n \n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications: \n\n * Post-secondary education plus one- or two-year technical program in electrical/electronics with mechanical applications. \n * Minimum 3 years of experience working with CSA \u0026 UL requirements. \n * Must be legally eligible to work in Canada with no company sponsorship. \n * Must reside within 60 km of Milton, ON. \n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\n * First Aid certified. \n * Experience using lean tools. \n * Experience in fabrication environment. \n\n\n\n \n\nPosition Criteria: \n\n * Good understanding of electrical safety requirements. \n * Knowledge of AC vs. DC power and impact on testing. \n * Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings. \n * Good analytical and problem-solving skills. \n * Proficient in Windows based applications \n * Excellent communication and leadership skills. \n * Problem-solving abilities. \n * Ability to de-escalate conflict and contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment. \n\n\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for job applicants and employees.
