Smardt Service Center Electromechanical Technician

Job Summary: As a Smardt Service Center Electromechanical Technician, your primary responsibility is to repair and rebuild Danfoss Turbocor oil-free centrifugal compressors. You will diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, perform repairs and component replacements, conduct testing, and maintain detailed service documentation to ensure optimal compressor performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Diagnosis & Troubleshooting:

• Conduct detailed electrical and mechanical inspections to assess compressor performance.


• Analyze fault and event logs to accurately identify issues.


• Utilize diagnostic tools and testing procedures to pinpoint malfunctions.

2. Repair & Rebuild:

• Replace or repair defective electronic components and mechanical parts.


• Conduct a comprehensive rebuild of the compressor’s internal mechanisms.


• Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and industry standards.

3. Testing & Quality Assurance:

• Perform electrical and mechanical tests to validate repair effectiveness.


• Verify that compressors operate within defined performance parameters.

4. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain thorough records of all diagnostics, repairs, and tests performed.


• Create detailed service histories to aid in future maintenance and identify recurring issues.


• Communicate findings and repair recommendations with internal teams and customers when required.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Technical background in electromechanics, HVAC, or related fields.


• Strong understanding of centrifugal compressor operation and diagnostics.


• Proficiency in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.


• Experience working with Danfoss Turbocor compressors (preferred).


• Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.


• Strong attention to detail and ability to document work accurately.


• Comfortable working in a service center environment with repair and testing equipment.

Work Environment:

• Hands-on repair and testing of compressors in a service center setting.


• Requires occasional lifting, use of hand tools, and operation of testing equipment.
