Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic Coordinator $42.826 to $52.327

Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, the EMTP/ACP Coordinator is an integral member of Saskatchewan Health Authority – Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Responsibilities include continuous quality improvement and coordinating best practices applicable to patient clinical care and safety for EMS in Saskatchewan. The EMTP/ACP Coordinator will be responsible for collaborating on patient care and safety policies and initiatives of various areas such as Critical Incident reviews, Standard of Work and Work Standard development, and quality improvement and assurance audits.

Human Resources Exemption: No

Experience

  • A min of 2 years’ exp as an ACP in a supervisory role (i.e.Team Leader)

Education

  • Advanced Care Paramedic Diploma (ACP)

Licenses

  • Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP)
  • Valid Class 4 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Emergency Vehicle Operations training
  • Preferred Instructor Level for the following: BLS,ITLS,PALS,ACLS

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to establish/maintain effective working internal/external relationships
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Highly developed organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Thorough knowledge and application of SHA Values, Protocols and Work Standards
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Professional manner and presentation in all interactions  
  • Ability to plan/organize/coordinate with other multidisciplinary team members

Other Information

  • HSAS seniority in the SHA will be considered under the selection criteria
  • Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement
  • Registered/eligible with Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at ACP/EMT-P

  • Must be willing to obtain instructor status within 12 months of start date
  • Location of this position is dependent upon the successful applicant's location
