Role description:


Arcadis Canada is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to join our team in Port Hope, Ontario. The successful incumbent will be part of a team carrying out radiological surveys in the municipality of Port Hope, Ontario. Job duties include, but are not limited to, exterior gamma surveys, interior gamma surveys, soil management tasks, collection of radiological measurements, and completing radiological scanning of equipment and personnel.  This role will require onsite work in the field.


The Environmental Field Technician will work within our Global Resilience Business Area.  We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Around the world, we’re feeling the effects climate change, rapid urbanization, loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we’re seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. We are here to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations.


Arcadis has a strong collaborative culture so this will be an opportunity for you to use, learn and apply foundational skills in the environmental assessment field.


Role accountabilities: 



  • Prepare for and carry out survey activities in accordance with the approved project Health and Safety and Technical Plans, and Standard Operating Procedures for the project;

  • Be responsible for maintaining Radiological safety measures as required including zoning, signage, and calibration of equipment;

  • Commitment to attention to detail in all tasks and accurately complete daily paperwork as required;

  • Possess a high degree of initiative and the ability to work in a diverse team environment;

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize and manage time efficiently to complete tasks.


Key Skills:



  • Be open to indoor and outdoor work environments

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Flexible to respond to changing project requirements


Qualifications & Experience:


Required Qualifications:



  • University Degree or Technical Diploma preferred 

  • 2+ years of field experience preferred, not required

  • Must have valid Driver’s License

  • A minimum of 5 years in Canada to be able to complete the Federal Background check

  • Federal Security Clearance Eligibility

The salary range for this position is $42,000-$63,000.  The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
