Wood is currently seeking an Environmental (Hydrometric) Field Technician to join our dynamic mining team in Oakville, ON. The Environmental Technician would be expected to split their time in the field carrying out hydrometric monitoring programs, as well as in the office. Field programs may occupy 75%-90% of the technician’s time.
Ideal candidates will have 1-3 years of experience conducting stream flow monitoring / installation programs (mining industry experience preferred). Candidates should be self-starters, independent workers, have strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, and enjoy being outdoors.
A full G license is required as travel to remote mining sites is required. Candidates should be comfortable with extended periods of travel, as well as travel by boat and helicopter.
Please note this role will have overtime during peak season giving this person the ability to earn significant additional time off through banked OT.
