Job Overview: BEST is looking for a self-motivated individual to help us develop and implement an environment friendly program, ensure personnel are properly training for environmental hazards, and over see environmental health and safety audits.

Job Location: Kitchener, ON

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect and sort all types of waste streams using proper PPE to create diversity reports
• Create reports to show progress on target goals; proficiency of excel would be an asset
• Monitor field work to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures specifications and codes
• Monitor, advise and educate staff on environmental issues and programs
• Oversee recycling efforts of custodial staff
• Travel to each campus to ensure environmental requirements are met
• Plan, implement, monitor and report on environmental initiatives 
• Oversee annual waste audit and work with environmental organizations
• Work closely and attend meetings with the Sustainability Committee on campus

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work in a diverse environment
• Must have a valid Drivers Licence
