We are currently seeking anEnvironmental Technicianto join our team inConcord, ON!
Responsibilities:
Responsible for executing day-to-day activities directed by Field Operations Manager.
Accountable for data and deliverables timeliness, quality, and integrity.
Complete environmental inspections at active construction and land development project sites in urban, suburban and rural settings documenting non-conformance items and providing site specific recommendations for follow up activities.
Collect field data, surveys and measurements as required. Including completing surveys, forms and reports documenting site environmental conditions under the guidance of senior staff. These include, Soil and Environment Management Plans, Soil Memos, and Groundwater Management and Dewatering Plans.
Responsible for collecting, organizing and submitting water, sediment and soil samples for laboratory testing under chain of custody.
An understating of one or more of the following fields; monitoring equipment, birds, fish, bats, or drone license.
Identifying, pursuing and maintaining training and qualifications, as required.
Accountable for diligent field notes, maintaining and filing of records and documentation according with GEMS standards.
Responsible for ensuring Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed and participating in a Health & Safety culture.
You will participate in a weekend and holiday on-call rotation schedule and be available 24/7 for emergency circumstances when assigned on-call duty.
Any other reasonably activity required by management.
Education & Experience:
University or accredited college degree in geology, hydrogeology, earth science, ecology, biology, environmental science or related major.
3-5 years of Environmental Monitoring Experience is necessary.
Full CISEC or CISEC-IT certification is required.
Drone license is an asset.
Experience with birds and bats, water quality sampling, and/or environmental monitoring equipment is required.
Understanding of Settlement Monitoring is strongly recommended.
Knowledge of government regulations is an asset.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Valid Ontario driver’s license. A company vehicle will be assigned.
