About the Position:

Reporting to the Estimating Manager, Estimator responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Reviewing blueprints, specifications, and commercial documents to understand project scope of work.


• Completing full quantity take-off of all labour, equipment and materials required to complete the project to ensure accuracy of pricing.


• Soliciting competitive pricing from steel providers, vendors, and suppliers.


• Calculating manhours and costs required for all associated project work.


• Working closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure estimates align with company metrics and project timelines. 


• Supporting Sales and Project Management teams with project execution.


• Staying updated on industry trends, material costs, and new technologies to provide accurate and competitive estimates.


• Contributing to process improvement in the estimating department.

Work Location:

• Hamilton, ON.

Position Requirements:

• Post-Secondary degree or diploma in engineering, construction technology or equivalent technical field required.


• 3 or more years of estimating/project management experience in the steel fabrication/construction industry. 


• Experience with construction software (e.g., Bluebeam, Tekla, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Excel.


• Experience with complex estimating concepts, practices and procedures including conceptual estimating, cost analysis, mathematical skills, and project design scopes.

Compensation Package:

• Salary: $65,000-$88,000/Year
