Job Description - Expedition Leadership (various Arctic locations)

Join Arctic Kingdom’s Expedition Team

Arctic Kingdom is recruiting Expedition Leaders and Assistant Expedition Leaders to guide world-class Arctic wildlife and adventure experiences. These roles lead guests safely through daily activities, coordinate field staff, manage camp operations, and ensure each trip meets Arctic Kingdom’s high standards for safety, hospitality, and professionalism.

Expedition Leaders and Assistant Expedition Leaders deliver engaging guest programming, including daily briefings, natural history interpretation, and optional workshops or presentations based on your expertise—biology, ornithology, marine ecology, photography, glaciology, or other relevant fields. You may also guide or support activities such as snorkelling, kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing, and wildlife viewing, ensuring every experience is safe, meaningful, and aligned with guest expectations.

You’ll work closely with Inuit guides, camp staff, suppliers, and local partners to plan and execute each trip—from pre-trip logistics and scouting to daily field leadership and post-trip wrap-up.

  • Expedition Leaders oversee all field operations.

  • Assistant Expedition Leaders support all aspects of planning, safety, guest experience, and staff coordination.

Ideal Candidate Profile

You are likely a strong fit if you:

  • Have experience leading expeditions, guiding adventure travel, or managing operations in remote environments.

  • Communicate clearly and confidently with guests, staff, communities, and head office.

  • Enjoy sharing knowledge and can deliver engaging talks, workshops, or interpretation based on your background—natural history, ecology, wildlife behaviour, Arctic environments, photography, or related fields.

  • Feel comfortable guiding or supporting activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, or wildlife viewing (training provided where needed).

  • Stay calm under pressure and excel at informed decision-making in changing field conditions.

  • Are organized and able to manage logs, schedules, inventories, and guest feedback.

  • Prioritize safety and risk management above all else.

  • Demonstrate cultural awareness and respect when working with Inuit guides and diverse international guests.

  • Are physically capable of long, active days in challenging field conditions.

  • For Expedition Leaders: bring prior experience managing teams and complex field logistics.

  • For Assistant Expedition Leaders: bring strong field skills and eagerness to grow into full leadership responsibilities.

To Apply:
Submit your resume detailing your relevant professional and personal experience. There are some application questions as part of the submission. They are not mandatory, but we strongly encourage you to complete them.
