The Family Centre is seeking an experienced Family Engagement Facilitator who enjoys working with groups and building connections. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to establish good working relationships with clients, and excellent organizational skills. In this role, you will facilitate collaborative processes that bring families together with kin, close friends, and community members to support children or youth requiring intervention services. Your efforts will ensure the organization builds on the strengths of the family system.

What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Family Engagement Services, the Family Engagement Facilitator is dedicated to delivering high-quality Family Group Conferences, Family Support Circles, ceremonies, and intensive family searches. The outcomes of these interventions include identifying potential placements, expanding support networks, and increasing extended family and community involvement. All children and youth in care should be referred to Family Engagement Services to explore extended and kin support options.
You take pride in your proficient oral and written communication skills, as well as your ability to establish clear boundaries and be sensitive to the individual needs of each family. You are dedicated to problem-solving with a non-confrontational approach. You demonstrate exceptional understanding of the meaning in teachings and values embedded in ceremony, circle processes, and relational accountability, and bring a commitment to allyship with equity-seeking communities. You value the importance of clear communication and cultural sensitivity. You can work independently and take initiative, and you possess advanced organizational and time management skills.
