Excellent opportunity to join the professional team at the Child Development Centre. The Family Partner supports therapeutic services to children from birth to 5 years of age, uses a multi-disciplinary and/or trans-disciplinary approach to team work, and promotes positive and participatory relationships with families and communities. Responsibilities of this position include coordinating client services, completing intakes and first visits, co-facilitating/facilitating groups for parents and children, connecting with community agencies and supporting families in their implementation of therapeutic goals.

Qualifications:

• Relevant bachelor’s degree related to supporting children and families (e.g. social work, counselling) or a combination of education and experience;


• Experience working with families and young children; and


• Experience working in a cross-cultural setting.

Knowledge of:

• Family-centered approach to working with families;


• Child development from birth to five years and matters pertaining to children with developmental needs;


• Community resources for young children and their families; and


• Cultural competency and safety.

Salary range: $41.37 - $50.34 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience

This position is covered by the Public Service Alliance of Canada Collective Agreement.
