The Southwest Nova Scotia Correctional Facility (SNSCF) is a medium/minimum security correctional facility in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. This facility has a bed capacity of 38 sentenced/remanded adult male.
Nova Scotia Health (NSH) is responsible for the delivery of health services to Persons in Custody (PIC) at all adult provincial correctional facilities. NSH provides/coordinates health care delivery including, but not limited to primary care, mental health and addictions, and access to dental care. Based on healthcare needs, PIC can access off site health services. NSH is committed to ensuring the well-being PIC in our care through high-quality medical treatment and compassionate support.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Physician to join our healthcare team. This part-time Family Physician position involves working half a day per week. The successful candidate will provide primary care services to persons in custody, manage chronic and acute medical conditions, and work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to promote the overall health and well-being of this population.
Responsibilities:
Medical Degree: Doctor of Medicine (MD) from an accredited institution.
