Program
The FASD Key Worker Program is part of the provinceâwide Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Key Worker Program and supports families of youth with FASD and Complex Developmental Behavioural Conditions (CDBCs). The program serves families in Surrey with youth ages 12–18 who meet eligibility criteria. Key Workers provide individualized, familyâcentred support that includes counselling, information and education, parenting strategies, advocacy, family events, and groupâbased education opportunities. Services are delivered flexibly and may take place in the office, in the family home, or within the community.
Position Summary
Pacific Community Resources Society is seeking a part-time Key Worker to support youth and families impacted by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and Complex Developmental Behavioural Conditions (CDBC), consistent with the provincial FASD Key Worker model. This non-clinical role focuses on FASD-informed education, caregiver support, and system navigation to strengthen family capacity and stability.
The Key Worker provides practical, strengths-based support to caregivers and youth through individualized assistance, facilitation of parent and caregiver support groups, and delivery of community-based education and training related to FASD and CDBC. The role emphasizes advocacy, coordination across school, child welfare, and community systems, and supporting caregivers to understand and respond to FASD-related needs.
A strong understanding of Indigenous Cultural Safety, family and community systems, and experience in group facilitation and advocacy are essential.
