Feed Mill Maintenance Technician

Kolk Farms Ltd. is seeking a Feed Mill maintenance Technician to join our team and help keep our feed mill operating safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Key Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):

• Operate and monitor feed mill equipment.


• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and adjustments.


• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and equipment breakdowns.


• Complete repairs and preventative maintenance as needed.


• Work with conveyors, augers, motors, bearings, belts, chains, hydraulics, and other mill equipment.


• Identify potential equipment problems before they result in downtime.


• Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized.


• Follow all safety, feed safety, and biosecurity procedures.


• Work with the feedlot and maintenance teams to keep feed production running smoothly.


• Maintain basic maintenance and repair records.


• Assist with other feedlot and feed mill duties as required.
  

Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on mechanical experience.


• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and figure out practical solutions.


• Comfortable working with hand tools and power tools.


• Ability to work independently and take initiative.


• Reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn and take on new responsibilities.


• Good attention to detail and a commitment to doing the job safely. 


• Comfortable working in a dusty, noisy, and physically demanding environment.


• Previous agricultural, feed mill, heavy equipment, welding, electrician, millwright, or industrial maintenance experience is an asset.
