Responsibilities

  • Ensure Daily Production Reports (DPR’s) are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner by Field Technicians (FT’s), providing assistance where necessary;
  • Review, approve, process data into FTTx and follow up where appropriate with Quality Assurance (QA) and Payroll, ensuring Technicians are paid accordingly;
  • Ensure DPR deficiencies are completed and followed up where appropriate;
  • Track completion tickets and advise Technicians if missing sequence is void;
  • Conduct full analysis of testing DPR’s using Pre-Con with drawings, pictures and fibre layout to ensure all quantities have been captured correctly;
  • Build and maintain Tracking Spreadsheets specific to each Area of Operation and populate with data including receipt of Daily Production Reports (DPR’s), as-builts, completion and outstanding tickets, notations, issues, testing (tracking completed testing, staging completion dates) and updating partial work not reported on spreadsheet
  • Track submission of fuel receipts, vehicle inspection forms and driver’s logs and submit these on a monthly basis;
  • Print drawings and layouts for FT’s on a daily basis;
  • Maintain accurate and complete job files, including composing Splice Packages;
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings and ensure employees are following safe procedures set out by the EHS Advisor;
  • Receive, review and send various training and health and safety paperwork from the Splicing Technicians (ST’s);
  • Liaise with sub-contractors to define the construction schedule, create streamlined processes and train sub-contractors on how to correctly complete DPR’s and invoices;
  • Work with Placing and Construction Managers on outstanding builds and advise immediately when issues are presented by field staff;
  • Responsible for various other administrative tasks including setting up meetings, taking minutes, capturing staff photos, being the point of contact for client IDs and assets;
  • Adhere to and promote the environmental, health and safety policies of AFL; and,
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Conscientiousness/Team Player – Possess a strong aptitude towards commitment and a team approach to problem solving and overall company functioning. Able to contribute to betterment of team dynamics through SME contributions to assist in the meeting of leadership directives and goals.
  • Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of administrative experience with 1 year of administrative experience in the capacity of a Field Construction Coordinator I or similar role;
  • Previous experience in telecommunications is an asset;
  • Superior customer service;
  • Minimum knowledge of accounting payroll and timesheets; and,
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (emphasis on Excel), ShareFile, SmartSheet and FTTx.
  • Working Conditions

  • In-Field office environment;
  • General hours are 7:00am – 3:30pm with extended hours and days as operationally required; and,
  • Extensive travel as operationally required.
