This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer in Canada.
This role is a field-based technical position focused on supporting advanced medical technologies used in clinical and surgical environments. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting sophisticated medical equipment across healthcare facilities, ensuring optimal performance and patient safety. Acting as a key technical partner to hospitals and clinical teams, you will provide both preventive and corrective maintenance while responding quickly to service needs. The position requires strong autonomy, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to manage a dynamic travel schedule across a large territory. You will collaborate closely with sales, clinical, and support teams to ensure high service quality and customer satisfaction. This is a high-impact role where technical precision directly contributes to patient care outcomes.
Accountabilities:
- Install, configure, commission, and test advanced medical equipment in hospital and clinical environments.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, system upgrades, and technical improvements on installed devices.
- Respond to customer issues quickly, ensuring resolution of technical, quality, and medical safety concerns.
- Maintain strong customer relationships by ensuring high levels of satisfaction and professional service delivery.
- Manage daily scheduling, field activities, and communication with customers, dispatch teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate service documentation, inventory records, and parts management, including returns of unused or defective components.
- Support sales and clinical teams during customer engagements, installations, and service-related activities.
- Promote and support maintenance contract offerings within the assigned territory as needed.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in electronics, engineering, or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
- Strong foundation in electronics, electricity, mechanics, and troubleshooting complex systems.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with medical devices, medical lasers, or similar advanced equipment.
- Experience in hospital or surgical environments is an asset, including familiarity with operating room protocols.
- Ability to connect and integrate medical devices into hospital IT networks.
- Proficiency with tools and systems such as Salesforce ServiceMax, as well as Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making abilities in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with a strong focus on responsiveness and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently in the field and manage a high travel workload (including overnight travel up to 50%).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to adapt to variable schedules.
- Must be based in Alberta (preferred) or Manitoba.
