Job Description - Field Service Representative (Technologist / Technician)

Eaton\u2019s Electrical sector is currently seeking a Field Service Representative to join our team. This position is based at our Kingston, ON facility and offers benefits from day one as well as a company vehicle. \n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $82000 - $102000 a year. You are also eligible for overtime compensation. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nThe Field Service Technician is responsible for providing field service support and consultation such as acceptance testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high voltage systems; advise customers and provide best technical solution to solve the customer issue; complete assigned jobs with assistance from lead technicians and engineers; conduct required tests and calibration using test equipment; check and maintain equipment to ensure compliance with applicable standards. \n \n\n\nThe primary purpose of this position is to provide field service engineering and technical assistance to customers in areas of installation, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification on power transmission, distribution and generation equipment and systems. \n \n\n\nIn this function you will: \n\u2022 Provide field service engineering, technical assistance, scheduling and sales support direction to customers in areas of installation, testing, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification of electrical power distribution equipment; \n\u2022 Responsible to self-manage assigned projects for electrical equipment; knowledge of electrical test and diagnostic equipment. \n\u2022 Deliver technical solutions to customers. \n\u2022 Performs less conventional complex engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, process studies, or research investigations. \n\u2022 Mentor less experienced technicians. \n\u2022 Provide technical training. \n\u2022 Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton\u2019s Philosophy and Values, as well as Safety and Environmental standards. \n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\u2022 Diploma or Degree in Electrical field from an accredited institution/ or Red Seal (309A) Interprovincial Electrician Certification/Ticket \n\u2022 Minimum of three (3) year of experience evaluating and servicing electrical distribution or control systems \n\u2022 No relocation assistance is provided \n\u2022 Business travel to customer sites required \n\u2022 Required to travel to United States for training on safety and Eaton products \n\u2022 Valid and unrestricted driver\u2019s licence is required \n\u2022 Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future \n \nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 Experience in protective relays preferred \n\u2022 Experience in performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, and analysis preferred\n\n## Skills:\n\n\u2022 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. \n\u2022 Strong analytical aptitude and complex problem-solving skills. \n\u2022 Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications. \n\u2022 Effective time management, prioritization and project management skills \n\u2022 Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment. \n\u2022 Understanding of the company\u2019s and competitor\u2019s electrical, electronic and mechanical products. \n\u2022 Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction.\n\nThis posting is for an existing vacancy. \n\nAt Eaton we leverage artificial intelligence to recommend jobs to you that match the skills and experience required for the open role.
