Field Specialist 2 / Artificial Lift

A Weatherford Gas lift Field/Optimization Specialist will be the front-line person for in-field Gas Lift Operations and Existing customer communications. Field Operations include. Mandrel Installations, New well Unloading and startups, Well Optimization and Troubleshooting using existing programs Valcal, VPC, Well Flo, Dynalift. Customer communications include calls to Field Engineers, Superintendents, Foreman and Operators on a regular basis. Follow-up calls after jobs have been sent out. Some New customer calls with local sales. Shop coverage includes Building equipment that is required for jobs, tracking Weatherford Inventory and Customer Stock. Making sure that work at site and in shop are carried out in a safe manner while managing time appropriately. All Gas Lift operations are to be conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements, including the Weatherford management system and the Gas Lift product line policies and procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform all required tasks that are involved in a Weatherford Gas Lift Field/Optimization Specialist

• In field on site Gas Lift well packer-less installations and well startups, Gas lift Well Trouble shooting and Optimization using Valcal, VPC, Well Flo and Dynaflow. Able to set up and run kickover tools, pulling and running tools, working with wireline crews and service rig crews at well site

• Customer Liaison including follow-up calls to Field Engineers, Superintendents, Foreman and Operators. Some new customer calls with local sales Representatives. Ability to use Computer programs for optimization and troubleshooting in front of customers

• Shop Coverage and in shop help when required. Building Gas Lift Equipment, Cleaning and tear down reports of customer equipment, Sending Orders out. Rebuilding Pulling and Kickover Tools

• Knowledge of Well site production facilities, separators, high line, injection control valves and Down Hole configurations are an Asset. Computer program Knowledge of Valcal, VPC Well Flo Dynalift is also an asset

• Commit to working safely. Follow regulatory requirements and Weatherford, Gas Lift safety procedures and practices

• Maintain a clean work area including Truck, Tools, Equipment and the shop area

• Actively participate in continuous improvement, Blue Chip initiatives set forth by Weatherford management

• Always wear job/task appropriate PPE. Maintain PPE in a clean and serviceable manner

• Participate and conduct scheduled safety meetings

• Ensure all regulatory and safety training certification stay up to date for example but not limited to Forklift, Overhead Crane and Rigging, H2S, First Aid

• Report on all deficiencies with equipment

• Remain current with and commit to the effective and timely use of the Weatherford Operational Risk Management policies, procedures, documents and tools

• Perform tasks ensuring correct use of all tools and equipment. Know a tools function and how to use/operate the tool in a safe manner

• Periodically sign into employee contact to check for any outstanding courses or policies that have been assigned and complete these

• Ensure Inventory when used is placed on the correct / corresponding Equipment tickets

• Complete weekly Cycle counts for truck. 

Skills / Education

• Knowledgeable and comfortable in both shop settings and field settings

• Possess valid country/regional driver’s license applicable to the equipment, with a clean abstract

• Possess valid and current certificates for regulatory safety training: may include but not limited to CSO, H2S, First Aid & CPR

• Ability to perform basic computer functions as required

• Working level of literacy: must be capable of reading manuals and work instructions and understanding the content

• Successful completion of secondary/high school education or equivalent.
