Job Description - Field Superintendent - PL#44646

The Field Superintendent is responsible for ensuring all contractors within their assigned area work safely and adhere to all site safety program requirements. This role involves overseeing detailed work planning, supervision of field activities, and ensuring high-quality execution of maintenance and construction tasks.

  • Ensure contractors within the assigned area perform work safely and comply with all safety program requirements.
  • Review and/or develop detailed work plans according to established workface planning processes.
  • Supervise direct field labour on mechanical and piping scopes of work as required, ensuring tasks are completed safely and to a high-quality standard.
  • Oversee contractor activities of a mechanical/piping nature, confirming work is completed safely and meets all contract requirements.
  • Conduct inspections of completed work to verify standards are met, identify deficiencies, and manage their resolution.
  • Monitor schedule and productivity, collaborating with contractors and operations personnel to resolve issues and remove barriers.
  • Validate and approve contractor-submitted labour, equipment, and material reports on a daily basis.
  • Coordinate field activities between contractors and the operations team as required.
  • 4–9 years of relevant experience in mechanical/piping work.
  • Previous experience with multi-disciplinary mechanical work (mechanical equipment, piping).
  • Experience in brownfield construction environments.
  • Journeyperson status – Electrical/Instrumentation and Mechanical.
  • Supervisor training.
  • First Aid certification.
  • WHMIS certification.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to monitor work quality, schedules, and productivity effectively.
  • CSO (Construction Safety Officer) designation – nice to have.
  • Ability to work on-site in Blind River, Monday to Friday.
