Job Description - Field Superintendent - PL#56644

Peter Lucas Project Management invests in people, community, and cutting-edge technology to provide gold standard project delivery. We are currently looking for a Field Superintendent to join our team.

The Field Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field construction activities to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all site safety programs, work plans, and contract requirements. This role plays a key part in coordinating contractors, supervising select field activities, and ensuring high standards of quality and productivity in a brownfield industrial environment.

This is a site-based position in Northern Saskatchewan, operating on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all contractors within the assigned area perform work safely and in full compliance with site safety programs, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and/or develop detailed work plans in alignment with established workface planning processes.
  • Provide direct supervision of field labour when required, including scaffold erection, scaffolding coordination, and civil scopes of work, ensuring activities are completed safely and to a high-quality standard.
  • Oversee contractor activities such as civil construction and scaffolding, confirming work is executed safely and in accordance with contractual and technical requirements.
  • Conduct inspections of completed work to verify compliance with quality standards, identify deficiencies, and manage the timely completion of corrective actions.
  • Monitor work schedules and productivity, working collaboratively with contractors and operations personnel to resolve issues, constraints, and field-level barriers.
  • Validate and approve daily contractor labour, equipment, and material reports.
  • Coordinate field activities between multiple contractors and site operations teams to ensure efficient execution and minimal disruption.

Required (Must Have)

  • Proven experience in a field superintendent or supervisory role within construction, industrial, mining, or heavy industrial environments
  • Experience working in a brownfield construction environment
  • Experience with estimating, planning, and supervising scaffold crews, including builds and materials
  • Experience overseeing civil construction scopes of work
  • Strong understanding of construction safety programs and regulatory requirements
  • Supervisor training or demonstrated supervisory experience
  • Strong computer skills
  • Valid First Aid certification
  • WHMIS certification
  • Ability to successfully complete site pre-access requirements, including substance testing
  • Ability to complete all required site orientation and safety training prior to start

Assets (Nice to Have)

  • Experience working in an underground mining environment
  • Journeyperson ticket in Scaffolding or Carpentry
  • Journeyperson status in Electrical/Instrumentation or Mechanical trades
  • Previous experience working on remote, rotational work sites
  • Journeyperson status in Electrical/Instrumentation or Mechanical trades
  • Previous experience working on remote, rotational work sites
