Finance Accounting Clerk II

Reporting to the Financial Services Manager, the Finance Accounting Clerk II is responsible for a variety of administrative and accounting functions including (but not limited to) providing support to the Tax & Accounts Receivable Clerk, Accounts Payable Clerk and other Finance staff members.

HOURLY RATE $37.9065 to $39.8072 per hour, Pay Grade 5 – Schedule “A” Inside Employees

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

• Grade 12 Diploma or GED


• Two-year post-secondary Accounting Diploma, or equivalent

EXPERIENCE

• Two (2) years’ accounting experience, or work experience including:       
  Processing accounts receivable;
  Processing accounts payable; and
  Analyzing and reconciling accounts.


• Municipal/government experience in accounting will be considered an asset.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality


• Accurate and efficient written/keyboarding skills.


• Sound knowledge of accounting and office practices/procedures.


• Demonstrated ability to prepare and maintain accurate and complete documents, forms, and records.


• Ability to use computers and applications in a proficient manner, including accounting software, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.


• Good organizational and time management skills.


• Demonstrated ability to exercise considerable tact, courtesy, and diplomacy when dealing with members of the public and staff.


• High degree of initiative and sound judgement.


• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
