Job Description - Finance Clerk

Purpose


Mamaweswen, The North Shore Tribal Council invites applications for the position of Finance Clerk. This position will be required to work out of the Head Office, located at 473 Hwy 17, Cutler, ON.



The Finance Clerk will provide financial and administrative support to ensure efficient and accurate operations within Mamaweswen, The North Shore Tribal Council Finance/Administration Department. The ideal candidate will possess experience in financial record-keeping, data entry, office administration, and supporting financial reporting processes.



Responsibilities:



  • Process invoices, expense claims, and payments in a timely manner.

  • Assist in preparing financial reports, budgets, and reconciliations.

  • Organize and maintain financial and administrative files and documentation.

  • Provide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence, and responding to inquiries.

  • Support compliance with financial policies, procedures, and funding agreements.



Qualifications



  • Post-secondary diploma in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in finance and bookkeeping.

  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Software Applications.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to promote team work.

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

  • Knowledge of Indigenous governance, funding agreements, and financial reporting is an asset.

  • Ability to speak the Anishnawbe Language and experience working with Indigenous communities will be considered an asset.
