We were born out of years of frustration in the commercial workplace seeking last-minute meeting rooms, searching for an office to take a confidential call, or simply looking for a quiet zone to focus on that important presentation. This led to a group of business consultants, architects, and industrial designers to collaborate with one of the world's leading acoustics manufacturers with the aim to create stylish, architecturally designed spaces for the modern office that were versatile, ergonomic and soundproof. Elastic workspaces.
We are building a sophisticated, world-class global finance function and are looking for a Finance Manager to own our North American operations as part of a global group. You will be the vital link between our commercial strategy and financial accuracy. You will be responsible for ensuring our US and Canadian entities’ finances are bulletproof. We need someone with an uncompromising eye for detail; a professional who takes immense pride in transforming complex data into a clean, audit-ready source of truth.
We are seeking a CPA who is technically strong but commercially curious. You are a high-output individual who possesses a natural bias for action; you won't hesitate to dive into the details to clean up accounts, yet you’ll also be the first to identify the margin trends that drive business growth.
This is a hands-on role where you will own the financial integrity of our North American operations. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our reporting is airtight, our tax compliance (US/CAD) is seamless, and our operational goals are met with precision.
This role is based in Vancouver, BC, working with our hybrid model (3 days in office). Our office is located in the Mount Pleasant area.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Ownership: Lead the month-end close for US and Canadian entities, ensuring every accrual and intercompany transaction is executed with absolute precision.
Financial Hygiene: Lead the "clean-up" of legacy processes. You will audit current workflows, identify gaps, and implement the robust structure needed to make our accounts permanently audit-ready.
Analytical Rigor: Move beyond basic reporting. You will dive into the P&L to explain the "why" behind the numbers, providing the CFO with the high-fidelity data needed for strategic pivots.
Compliance & Tax Management: Navigate the nuances of North American filings (Sales Tax/HST, state nexus), working with external advisors to ensure 100% compliance.
Cash & Treasury: Own regional cash flow forecasting. You will be the guardian of liquidity, ensuring our North American growth is supported by accurate, real-time data.
Process Engineering: You have a passion for efficiency. If a process is manual or suboptimal, you will re-engineer it to build a scalable "finance engine."
Business partner: Act as the primary finance lead for Sales and Ops; you will translate data into actionable commercial insights, helping teams optimize project margins and embed financial discipline into daily workflows.
Qualifications & Experience
The Credentials: CPA qualified (or equivalent international designation). Ideally, you trained in a Top 20 or Big 4 firm and are ready for a high-impact move into a fast-paced, scale-up industry environment.
Experience: 3–4 years of total experience. One year of "in-house" industry experience is highly preferred, but we will consider newly CPA qualified candidates with strong accounting/audit backgrounds.
Technical Mastery: You possess a strong understanding of ASPE/IFRS and ideally US GAAP and hold yourself to the highest standards of financial reporting.
Exceptional Standards: You have an uncompromising eye for detail.
Execution Focus: You are known for your ability to deliver results under pressure and your proactive approach to problem-solving.
Communication: The ability to distill complex technical data into clear, professional insights for senior stakeholders.
