Job Description - Financial Empowerment Program Coordinator Financial Empowerment

Description

The Program Coordinator role with e4c’s Financial Empowerment Program works with low-income individuals to increase their financial literacy, skills, benefits and resources needed to attain financial stability.

In this role you will be responsible for the coordination, delivery, and evaluation of various e4c Financial Empowerment programs that deliver financial literacy training, one on one coaching and other essential supports to low-income individuals and families. You will work from a trauma informed, person-centered approach to successfully deliver financial education to vulnerable people.

Responsibilities

Program Delivery
• Together, with the other members of the Financial Empowerment team, support the development, implementation, and on-going management of a comprehensive Financial Education program.
• Facilitate financial education (presentations and workshops) to a diverse population of participants, both group and individual settings, at a variety of locations.
• Facilitate financial empowerment training to e4c and other agency staff.
• Oversee delivery of programming to match e4c’s strategic vision.
• Participate in a comprehensive orientation and training program for e4c volunteers.
• Engage with community resources to represent, discuss and/or establish collaborations, partnerships, or other services with a focus on improving services to participants.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders and attend relevant community meetings to represent the financial empowerment program.

Administration
• Administer surveys and evaluation tools, collect results, and generate reports.
• Prepare internal and external reports.
• Create, modify, and adapt materials needed for tax and benefit programs, financial education training, workshops, and presentations.
• Work with other agencies, government committees and community groups to understand and advocate around financial security issues.

  • Create programming aimed at ending poverty through financial empowerment.
  • Help connect individuals with different tools to build the life they want.
  • Deliver financial literacy training that builds capacity and empowers others.
  • Be a cheer leader for e4c’s programs (e.g. Make Tax Time Pay, EmpowerU) within the Edmonton nonprofit community.
  • Support volunteers and student placements working at different sites in Edmonton.
  • Participate in the local and national level communities of practice working to end poverty.
Qualifications

Education
• Post-secondary education in a relevant field including Business, Human Services, Education, Human Ecology, Communications, or Political Science.• 2+ years’ experience working in a related field and/or a combination of education and work experience.
• Experience with group facilitation and individual coaching.
• Knowledge of community development and program development.
• A basic understanding of financial concepts.
• General knowledge of government social support systems
• Familiarity with indigenous culture, history, and social barriers.
• Experience with data collection and program evaluation.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team setting.
• Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, Excel, PowerPoint, and other technology tools.
