Fitter / Welder

Innovative Steam Technologies (IST), a Division of Propak Systems Ltd, is the leading worldwide supplier of steam generators used in Power, Cogeneration, and Enhanced Oil Recovery applications.

We are currently seeking a Fitter / Welder who will report to the Production Foreman and is responsible for all fitting functions in the structural and assembly areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all Safety Rules & Regulations, and Quality & Production Procedures are adhered to


• Achieve required production targets in line with levels of experience and supervisor expectations


• Ensure that all in-process quality verifications, material pick lists per consumption and project timesheets are completed with accuracy


• Report and advise on any equipment malfunction or guarding issue


• Fitting of structural components


• Adequate troubleshooting of welding issues


• Assist in the training and orientation of new employees


• Active participation in Propak/IST Safety program


• Ensure routine identification of welds throughout the production process


• Adhere and follow all core values of Propak / IST


• Ensure inspection points and job operations are followed at all times, verifying parts are within required tolerance


• Ensure inspections and sign off requirements on job travelers are completed as required


• Ensure all welds are identified with personal welder number


• Report and advise maintenance of any equipment malfunction


• Read engineering drawings and follow instructions for welding procedures applicable to work duties


• Fitting and welding of structural assemblies in manufacturing area and all major component assemblies for all OTSG / EOR type units


• Changing and troubleshooting Weld Parameter Settings


• Operating Over Head Cranes (2 Ton, 5 Ton, 10 Ton)


• Operating Lift Truck


• Perform additional assignments per Production Foreman’s direction

Qualifications:

• CWB Welder with 5 + years of experience (FCAW/MCAW/SMAW)   


• 5 + years fitting structural components  


• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings


• Knowledge of fabrication shop production processes


• Enthusiastic and hardworking people with strong interpersonal and communication skills


• Ability to maintain focus in an environment subject to constant change and pressure
