Job Summary

Apply your financial expertise in this integral role

The Auditor works within a team led by the Senior Auditor to support the Container Trucking Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner to fulfill the legislative mandate of the Office. The Auditor will ensure that the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner have sufficient information supported by evidence to assess Licensee compliance with the Container Trucking Act, the Container Trucking Regulation and the Container Trucking Licence.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, such as accounting, finance or economics plus a minimum 2 years' experience in compliance auditing; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience managing a varied and complex workload with minimal supervision.
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience with drafting professional reports, assessing evidence and conducting inquiries during an audit or investigation.
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience with managing multiple projects with variable deadlines and deliverables.
  • Minimum two (2) years' demonstrated experience in applying analytical and research skills to gather and interpret information and reach defensible conclusions.
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in identifying and resolving complex issues in both written and verbal formats.
Preference may be given to applicants with 1 or more of the following:
  • A professional accounting designation issued by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada or related professional regulatory authority.
  • Experience working in a public sector regulatory environment with a focus on interpreting and applying legislation and regulations in the context of compliance and enforcement activities.
  • Experience working in the container trucking industry within the Lower Mainland an asset.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
