Folding (Bindery) Machine Operator

The right candidate has bindery experience in folder, mailer or outsert setup. They are self-motivated, take ownership of position, have a good works ethic, are detail oriented and quality conscious.

Role Overview:
Location: Mississauga (on-site)

Position: Folding (Bindery) Machine Operator

Shift Type: Day & Afternoon shifts available

• Day Shift (6:00am – 4:00pm), Monday – Thursday, 10 Hour Shifts
  


• Afternoon Shift (3:48pm - 1:48am), Monday - Thursday, 10 Hour Shifts (*training to be conducted on days before moving to afternoons*)
  
  

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Hourly Rate: From $23.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience)

What Will You Do?

• Review job orders and production dockets to determine job specifications such as materials, quantities, and production requirements; complete production documentation including logbooks, label requests, and skid tickets


• Operate finishing and support equipment, including Longford bundling machines and outsert folding machines, ensuring proper configuration, alignment, and output according to job specifications


• Feed raw materials into machines and remove finished products, while monitoring machine operations to maintain continuous workflow and identify any mechanical or production issues


• Perform in-process quality control checks to verify product accuracy, packaging standards, and consistency, and make necessary adjustments or report deviations to maintain quality standards


• Assemble cartons and trays, perform shrink wrapping, and ensure proper packaging, labelling, and handling of finished goods for shipment or storage


• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workplace safety regulations and assist in routine equipment maintenance

What Experience Do You Bring?

• 5 years of bindery/print machine relevant experience; specifically with parallel, 8-page, 16-page & map folds, etc.


• Experience in using glue system and water scores considered an asset


• Ability to both set up and run all jobs assigned


• Sharp attention to detail coupled with a strong mechanical aptitude


• Work effectively within a team environment and able to work independently when required


• Demonstrated ability to be adaptable and flexible as needs arise.


• Strong command of the English language -  both verbal and written
