A Day in the Life:

FOREST NURSERY WORKER, THINNING

We are currently seeking to fill an existing vacancy on our team.

PRT Campbell River is looking for seasonal Forest Nursery Workers to help with our upcoming tree seedling thinning. If you want a physical, fast-paced outdoor job that makes a positive environmental impact, this is for you! You'll be lifting tree seedlings, up to 50 lbs, and with long stretches of standing and being outdoors in all types of weather.  No experience is needed – we'll provide full training.

Your Role & What You'll Do

You'll work as part of a supportive team, under the guidance of a Nursery Lead and Manager. Your main duties will involve:

• Lifting and moving tree seedlings outdoors.
• Learning about forest nursery activities.
• Working independently and efficiently.
• Committing to quality and safety in a safe work environment.

About the team:

The Nursery Worker will work alongside other nursery workers under the supervision of the Nursery Lead and report to the Nursery Manager.

What YOU bring to the table (Qualifications - no more than 4-6 bullets)

• Reliable transportation and appropriate work attire.
• Good manual dexterity and eyesight.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
• A team-oriented personality with a positive attitude.
• A desire to learn and contribute to forest regeneration.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary information: $18.37/HOUR + an additional $0.75 Health & Welfare per straight time hours for the training period, transitioning to piecework with greater earning potential
