Location: Edmonton, Alberta


Come Grow with Us! Forsite is actively looking for Forest Technician with general understanding and experience with Alberta forestry practices, based out of our Edmonton, Alberta location.

WHAT YOU WILL DO


Under the direction of the Manager - Alberta, the Forest Technician is responsible for forest inventory plots, forest development activities including reconnaissance road centerline and cutblock boundaries, ecological and riparian assessments, and completing all deliverables in a safe, timely, cost effective and professional manner.



QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES 



  • A safety conscious attitude;

  • Post-secondary education with a diploma or degree in a relevant discipline;

  • General understanding and experience with forest operations and forestry practices in Alberta,

  • Valid driver’s license for 5 years and clean driving record;

  • Enthusiastic and passionate about forestry and working outdoors in all weather conditions;

  • Able to work both independently under limited direct supervision as well as in a dynamic team environment;

  • Effective problem solving with decision making skills; and,

  • Registered or eligible to be registered with the Alberta Association of Forest Management Professionals, is preferred.
