Forklift Operator (Calgary, AB – Onsite)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Employment Type: 6-month temporary role with potential to become permanent
Hourly Rate: $29.41 per hour

Summary

The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, timely, and accurate movement of materials within the yard. This position supports operational efficiency by loading and unloading shipments, verifying documentation, and maintaining organized inventory. Through consistent equipment inspections and adherence to safety standards, this role helps minimize downtime and ensures materials are readily available to meet operational and customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to load and unload trucks and trailers in a timely manner


• Inspect incoming materials, verify shipment documentation, and stock products within the yard


• Stage and prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and readiness for delivery


• Perform daily safety inspections on material handling equipment to reduce downtime and repair costs


• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through regular housekeeping and yard upkeep

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required


• 1–3 years of experience operating forklifts or working in a material handling environment


• Forklift certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire


• Ability to lift and handle materials, including manual lifting when required


• Comfortable working in an outdoor environment and in varying weather conditions


• Strong attention to detail when verifying shipments and documentation


• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members
