Job Description - Freight Coordinator & Sales Associate

Job Description


Border Brokers, with over 40 years of industry experience, is a company that specializes in providing personalized service to importers and exporters worldwide. Our goal is to simplify customs clearance and tailor our services to meet the specific needs of our clients.


We are currently seeking an energetic and experienced individual to join our team as a Freight Coordinator & Sales Associate at our Head Office in Winnipeg.


Role Responsibilities:



  • Receive and process customer orders.



  • Coordinate the pickup and delivery of shipments and actively track their movement.



  • Negotiate rates and establish terms and conditions.



  • Prepare shipping documents such as bills of lading, customs forms, and invoices.



  • Maintain regular communication with customers to address any transit or shipping issues and ensure customer satisfaction.



  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet customer needs and expectations.



  • Identify and introduce potential customers to Border Brokers' freight services.



  • Reach out to potential customers through cold calling.



  • Perform cost benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers.



  • Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers.



  • Meet agreed upon sales targets and objectives within the specified timeframe.


Education and Qualifications:



  • Diploma/Degree or certificate in Supply Chain Management, Business, or equivalent experience an asset.



  • 1+ years of work experience in freight or logistics coordination required.



  • Solid computer software skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).



  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written, are a must.



  • Strong organizational, time management and detail-oriented skills.



  • Proven ability to work well independently and as part of a team.



  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive deadlines.



  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.
