Job Description - FT Contract -Marketing & Communications Coordinator -All Regions

Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Location:  Chaplin YMCA with Hybrid Work arrangement and regular in-person presence required (Guelph Wellington, Waterloo Region and Stratford-Perth)

Work Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours weekly, with 

flexibility Monday to Friday on start / end times, given occasional evenings, weekends and on-call requirements to meet business and project deadlines

    We have a short-term vacancy in our team, and are looking for someone who can step up to help us out for 15 months. Is that you? 

    We are looking for a storyteller, someone who can distill complexity into concise and compelling bites. We need someone who is equally good at the details as the big picture. Someone who sees beyond the horizon and breaks down the steps to get us there. We are a small team, so we are excited to find a colleague who will show up with compassion, work hard and bring a kind and caring approach in their collaboration. 

    So, what will you do? 

    Our Marketing and Communications Coordinator will deliver exceptional program-level marketing and communications for our Y. You will support the needs of our operational partners, including developing short and long form content, videography and photography. Our new colleague will coordinate key audience digital communications, including member e-news, social media and our website, all within our brand framework. You are the lead on paid advertising for our Y, and know how to navigate a multi-channel approach. 

    Do you have what it takes?

    Ideally, you’ve completed your post-secondary studies with experience in communications, design and marketing. You have 2-4 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications roles with demonstrated experience in marketing and design tools, digital advertising, and communications channels. You have a strong awareness of current best practice and Canadian communications requirements with respect to privacy and accessibility. You’re skilled in all forms of communication, problem solving, planning, change management and the creative process. Experience in the non-profit sector is an advantage, but not a requirement. 

    This work is dynamic so you will need to be flexible and adept at managing emerging priorities. Your working hours will be a full 37.5 hours weekly, with flexibility Monday to Friday to adjust your start/end times on days where you will be providing occasional evenings, weekends and on-call requirements to meet business and project deadlines. 

    This role requires regular travel across the region, which may not always be easily accessible through public transit. The employee must be able to arrange their own transportation to these sites. A valid G driver’s license and full time vehicle access are strongly recommended.
