Location: Belleville, ON
Pay Rate: $18.54/hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Overtime Method: Ontario ESA
Employment Type: Temporary

Overview

As a Security Guard, you’ll represent professionalism, integrity, and community care—ensuring compliance with college policies and local regulations while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with staff, students, and visitors courteously and professionally
• Enforce parking by-law regulations on campus
• Conduct proactive patrols of all parking lots twice per shift
• Issue parking tickets for unauthorized or improper parking (e.g., no pass, wrong zone, fire route, handicap spots without permit)
• Record and upload ticket data and photos at end of shift
• Maintain consistent by-law enforcement during all weather conditions
• Monitor campus activity, ensuring compliance with college policies
• Provide directions and assist visitors as needed
• Support staff and students as required, maintaining a safe environment
• Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and incidents
• Write accurate and detailed reports on daily activity and incidents
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)
• Must not be a current Loyalist College student
• English fluency (oral and written) required
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Nice to Have (Optional)

• French fluency (oral and written) considered an asset
• Experience in security, by-law, or parking enforcement preferred
• Certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
• Applicants lacking these can opt into Paladin’s training program (unpaid pre-requisite)
• Paladin covers all costs with a 6-month employment commitment; 2 days of in-class training in Kingston required
