About the Role
As a Security Operator, you will work within a state-of-the-art healthcare Control Centre, serving as the communication and coordination hub for hospital security operations. You’ll be responsible for monitoring and responding to critical systems, including CCTV, access control, and life safety alarms — ensuring staff and patient safety around the clock.
This role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals with strong multitasking, communication, and situational awareness skills who thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and operate multiple security systems, including fire and life safety, CCTV, and access control
Dispatch security personnel to incidents, emergencies, and requests for assistance
Log and document all radio transmissions, calls, and activity reports accurately
Control access to and from restricted hospital areas
Coordinate backup support and escalate major incidents to management as needed
Answer emergency and security lines promptly and professionally
Ensure compliance with site-specific security policies and standard operating procedures
Support hospital staff, patients, and visitors through effective communication and situational awareness
Must-Have Criteria
Copy of immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, Pertussis, and TB Skin Tests – Step 1 & 2)
Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C certification (from a WSIB-approved provider)
Ability to be clean-shaven for N95 Mask Fit Test compliance
Minimum 6+ months of experience in a control centre or dispatch environment
Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
Commitment to full-time availability for a minimum of 6 months
Nice-to-Have (Optional)
6+ months of healthcare or security experience is an asset
