Location: Brockville, ON – Brockville General Hospital, Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital
Schedule: Continental shifts, rotating days & nights (8–12 hours)
Pay Rate: $21.69/hour
Employment Type: Full Time
Averaging Agreement: Overtime after 88 hours

Overview

Paladin Security is looking for dedicated Healthcare Security Guards to support operations across multiple hospital sites in the Brockville, Perth, and Smiths Falls region. As a frontline representative of the hospital security team, you will help maintain a safe, professional, and supportive healthcare environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

This position requires strong communication, situational awareness, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional, visible security presence
• Greet, assist, and direct the public
• Protect clients, staff, buildings, and assets
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Conduct interior/exterior patrols and respond to emergencies
• Document and report incidents; conduct investigations as required
• Perform patient watches
• Enforce hospital policies and by-laws
• Manage access control, keys, and parking enforcement
• Support monthly safety inspections
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements (Must Have)

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C Certificate (WSIB-approved provider)
• Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (minimum double dose)
• Completed immunization records for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella, and TB Skin Tests – Step 1 & 2
• MMR must be completed at the time of hire
• Ability to provide required immunization documentation (forms provided by Paladin)
• Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check during onboarding
• Ability to commit to full-time availability for at least 6 months
• English proficiency (oral & written)
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Nice to Have

• Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience
• 6+ months of customer service experience
• Certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
• Applicants without these may complete Paladin’s UoF/MOAB training before onboarding
• Training is unpaid as it is a pre-requisite, but Paladin covers all costs with a 6-month commitment to the position
