Full-Time Maintenance Clerk I

Discovery Co-operative is hiring for a Full-time Maintenance Clerk I for our Maintenance Department located in North Battleford SK.  

What you’ll do: 

Reporting to the ​Facilities Manager and Assistant Facilities Manager ​ you will be primarily responsible for performing day-to-day janitorial activities for Discovery Co-op, including maintain and providing a high standard of building cleanliness specifically at the Discovery Co-op Mall location. Duties will include: 

• Responsible for the daily sweeping of all associated floor spaces and moving of products/equipment as needed to achieve the required level of cleanliness. 

• Daily scrubbing, washing, mopping of all associated floor spaces and utilizing a power scrubber, where appropriate. 

• Always ensure use of company-recommended cleaning products and follows the supplied recommended mix ratios.  

• Ensures and maintains proper sanitation and safety standards in alignment with maintenance policies and procedures. 

• Ensuring all work areas are kept free of garbage, floors are clean and dry, counters and shelves are cleaned and sanitized as needed. 

• Ensure the parking lot is cleaned of debris.  

• Assists the maintenance team with basic snow removal services at the mall when required, excluding operating the snow removal equipment.  

• To be familiar with and adhere to Discovery Co-op Policies and Procedures. To live the Co-op brand every day and perform other duties as assigned.

Who you are:  

You are looking for a career in ​Customer Service​ and: 

• Knowledge and experience with retails is an asset. 

• Preference for janitorial experience and knowledge of commercial buildings. 

• Preference for proven knowledge and experience in the operation of scrubbers, burnishers, and other related flooring maintenance equipment. 

• WHMIS certification upon hire. 

• Must have proven extensive knowledge of cleaning products required to maintain all types of commercial floor finishes. 

• Must possess ability to work independently, completing entire floor maintenance from stripping to sealing and waxing. 

• Must be capable of operating different types of machinery and equipment such as powered scrubbers, brooms, mops, step ladders, etc. 

• You must be available to work during mornings and afternoons with weekend availability where required. 

• Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds. 

• You are honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do. 

• You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most
