Paladin Security is Hiring a Security Guard!

Location: Toronto, ON, CA
Schedule: Continental Rotations – 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights/Weekends)
Pay Rate: $21.22/hour
Employment Type: Full-Time, Temporary

Responsibilities

  • Work 12-hour shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and incident response
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to coded emergencies within the hospital
  • Provide security presence and support throughout the Emergency Department and Mental Health Ward
  • Write detailed incident and investigation reports
  • Display exceptional customer service and empathy when assisting patients, visitors, and staff under stress
  • Use verbal de-escalation techniques to manage conflict situations
  • Monitor for and escalate security concerns within the Emergency Department
  • Assist in developing and maintaining security plans for high-risk patients
  • Support and oversee patient watch guards
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services to maintain a safe environment
  • Ensure the overall safety of staff, patients, and visitors across the facility
  • Maintain professionalism, composure, and strong communication at all times
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Valid (WSIB-approved) First Aid and CPR Level-C Certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of healthcare security experience
  • Ability to work continental rotations (12-hour shifts including weekends)
  • Proficient in English (both oral and written)
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (2-dose minimum) – proof required
  • Willingness to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check upon offer of employment
  • Up-to-date immunization record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, TB tests 1 & 2)
  • Ability to maintain a clean-shaven face to pass an N95 mask fit test
