Job Description - Fund Development Associate

Reporting to the Associate Director, Philanthropy & Development, the Fund Development Associate supports fundraising activities across all areas of giving including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, corporate and foundation giving, third-party fundraising, campaigns and events. The role manages donor and prospect relationships, supports stewardship and cultivation activities, and contributes to revenue growth through donor-centered fundraising practices.


Working as part of the Philanthropy & Development team, the Fund Development Associate collaborates with colleagues across the organization to identify opportunities for donor engagement, strengthen relationships and support fundraising priorities.


This is a 37.5-hour per week position and is eligible for YWCA Calgary’s Hybrid Work Arrangement. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support fundraising events and activities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Manage donor and prospect relationships through identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities

  • Research and prioritize prospective donors, partners, and supporters

  • Arrange donor meetings, tours, and engagement opportunities

  • Prepare proposals, cases for support, presentations, and donor correspondence

  • Coordinate donor acknowledgment, recognition, and stewardship activities

  • Support annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, corporate partnerships, foundations, campaigns, and events

  • Monitor gift commitments and support gift administration processes

  • Represent YWCA Calgary at events and community engagement opportunities

  • Maintain accurate donor records in Raiser’s Edge NXT

  • Prepare reports and track fundraising performance indicators

  • Ensure compliance with CRA requirements and organizational policies

  • Collaborate with colleagues across programs, communications, finance, and community engagement

  • Contribute to department planning, process improvement, and team success


QUALIFICATIONS



  • Diploma or degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience


WHAT YOU'LL BRING



  • CFRE is an asset

  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and donor relationship management

  • Experience supporting a variety of fundraising programs and donor engagement activities

  • Strong knowledge of Raiser’s Edge NXT or a comparable fundraising database

  • Knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency charitable giving and tax receipting requirements

  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
