The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul of Vancouver Island is looking for a Fundraising & Community Relations Coordinator to help support and grow our fundraising and community engagement team supporting donor engagement, grants, marketing and community partnership activities. This role assists with donor stewardship, event coordination, grant support, and campaign communications, while also contributing to social media and digital engagement efforts. The position plays an important role in strengthening relationships with donors, partners, and the broader community, helping to advance the Society’s mission and impact.

What you will do:
Fundraising & Donor Engagement
- Support individual donor relationships including assisting with donor enquiries
- Assist with donor stewardship activities, including communications and recognition
- Track and maintain accurate donor records and track engagement in CRM
- Contribute to donor outreach, appeals, and follow-up
Events & Community Engagement
- Support the planning and delivery of fundraising events and community initiatives
- Assist with logistics, communications, and on-site coordination
- Help build and maintain relationships with community groups, local businesses, and partners
- Represent the Society at events and in the community as needed
Grants & Funding Applications
- Assist with researching funding opportunities and tracking deadlines
- Support the preparation and submission of grant applications
- Help coordinate grant reporting by gathering program data and impact stories
Community Partnerships
- Support the development and stewardship of partnerships and sponsorships
- Help identify opportunities for collaboration with local organizations and businesses
- Assist in coordinating third-party fundraising initiatives
Campaigns & Communications
- Provide support for fundraising campaigns and appeals
- Assist with donor communications and storytelling that highlights impact
- Work with the communications team to ensure consistent messaging
- Assist with writing and editing newsletters, reports, and other print publications.
- Help to design fliers, signage and event materials
- Assist with social media by preparing and publishing posts in accordance with established communications plans.
Our ideal Fundraising & Community Relations Coordinator will bring the following:
- Diploma or degree in communications, marketing or related field
- 1 year of experience in fundraising, communications, community engagement, or a related field
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience supporting events, donor relations, or partnerships
- Excellent organizational and coordination abilities
- Experience with CRM systems and basic donor tracking

Additional Requirements:
- A Ministry of Justice Vulnerable Sector Clearance Letter is required prior to hiring.
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are required.
