General Duty Radiologic Technologist

Reporting to the X-ray Supervisor, the General Duty Technologist performs routine and prescribed technical procedures in accordance with training and experience.  The General Duty Technologist provides direct patient care and technical, administrative and operational support while working as part of the multi-disciplinary team.

Experience, Education and Licensure

• Relevant clinical and operational experience required;


• Must be a graduate of an approved Medical Radiography program with certification and license obtained by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience with computers, preferably with Windows and Microsoft Office programs as well as Syngo RIS/Plaza;


• Ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions with attention to detail;


• Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships in a multidisciplinary work environment;


• Maintains confidentiality with all information entrusted to the position;


• Ability to perform duties both autonomously and as a team member;


• Maintaining a safe environment for staff and patients by adhering to department policies and standards put forth by Accreditation.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Ability to safely perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position;


• Must have the physical ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements as required;


• Must be able to safely lift, reposition, and transfer patients, either independently or with the assistance of another staff member, as required;


• Must be able to respond appropriately to the physical, emotional, and changing needs of patients while maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and themselves.
