As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled General Superintendent to oversee multiple job sites and ensure successful project execution.
Position Overview:
The General Superintendent is responsible for managing and coordinating multiple demolition projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively manage crews, resources, and vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage multiple job sites across Edmonton.
Plan and execute demolition projects efficiently and safely.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Manage and coordinate crew scheduling to maximize productivity.
Handle change orders, ensuring adjustments are made promptly and communicated effectively.
Coordinate purchase orders to vendors and ensure timely material deliveries.
Read and interpret blueprints, job specifications, and work orders.
Communicate with Project Managers, clients, and stakeholders regarding project progress and challenges.
Conduct site inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
Train and mentor foremen and crew members to uphold company standards.
Maintain project documentation, including reports on scheduling, budgets, and safety compliance.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in demolition or construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
Strong knowledge of interior demolition methods, tools, and equipment.
Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Expertise in handling change orders, budgeting, and cost control.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Experience working with hazardous materials, including proper handling and disposal procedures, is an asset.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and project specifications.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Safety certifications (e.g., CSTS, First Aid, WHMIS, Fall Protection, Asbestos Awareness) are preferred.
Ability to work in physically demanding environments and manage job site challenges effectively.
