ABOUT WILLIAMS LAKE FIRST NATION (WLFN)
The Williams Lake First Nation (WLFN), or the T’exelcemc (people of WLFN) have belonged to the Secwepemc (or Shuswap) Nation for over 6500 years. Today, the WLFN community includes a growing population of over 800 registered members who live on reserve in Sugar Cane, in nearby Williams Lake, BC, and across the globe.

POSITION
Williams Lake First Nation (WLFN) is a progressive First Nation community that has taken significant strides to build out its governance framework. WLFN has adopted a Land Code pursuant to the First Nations Land Management Act, a Financial Administration Law pursuant to the First Nations Fiscal Management Act, as well as a Custom Election Code and Membership Code. WLFN is pursuing further opportunities for more expansive self-governance both through the Treaty process and other channels.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Legal and Corporate Services, the Governance Coordinator will participate as an integral member of the Legal and Corporate Services team, providing advice and support services in researching and developing laws, policies, regulations, resolutions and overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and amendment of WLFN laws and policies.

Full-Time Permanent (35 hours per week).
