Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Grademan / Gradeperson to work on duct bank projects located in Edmonton. We offer competitive wages, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, training and potential for work over the winter.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Work with the foreman to determine work planning and flow


• Establish grade for civil work
  


• Work closely with the foreman to respond to materials needed


• Maintain a high level of communication with the crew and operators to ensure safety, quality and timing


• Complete site documentation as required


• Participate in inspections and incidents - address deficiencies / issues through corrective actions


• Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity

Required Skills:

• 2+ years of grade work experience


• Civil / Earthworks experience


• Prior duct bank experience is an asset


• Ability to read blueprints and grade sheets


• Ability to use various survey equipment


• Safety conscious


• Competent in the use of various rigging techniques and mechanisms


• Organized and always one step ahead of the crew


• Able to work independently and follow instruction from the foreman


• Able to support other positions as needed


• Strong communication skills – provide instructions clearly with sufficient detail


• Ability to mentor workers for advancement


• Consistent, reliable and always show up for work fit for duty

Required Certifications:

• CSTS 2020


• WHMIS 2015


• Ground Disturbance Level 2
