Position Summary

LE Construction & Maintenance (LECM) is hiring a Level 2 Ground Maintenance Crew Technician (Floater) to move between our commercial properties across Calgary and fill in wherever a crew needs an extra hand. On any given day you might run the Hustler mower, apply hard-surface herbicide, drive a company truck, step in to lead a crew, or take on whatever the site needs. You already know the order of operations, you don’t need the basics explained, and you can be trusted with bigger equipment and more independence.

This is a year-round role — landscape maintenance through spring, summer, and fall, switching to snow and ice operations over the winter months.

Key Responsibilities

• Float between crews and sites, filling in wherever help is needed that day.


• Operate the Hustler walk-behind mower and other grounds-maintenance equipment.


• Apply hard-surface herbicide (training and certification available if you’re not already certified).


• Drive company trucks — and tow trailers as assigned.


• Step in to lead a crew when the day calls for it.


• Log sites and hours accurately in LMN.


• Handle the odd-ball tasks that come up — edging, litter mitigation, cleanups, and more.


• Follow LECM safety procedures on every site, every time.

Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with commercial mowing, trimming, and bed edging — or similar grounds/property work.


• Comfortable operating a large walk-behind mower (e.g., Hustler).


• Valid driver’s license; trailer experience an asset.


• Able to work with minimal supervision and step into a lead role when needed.


• Willing to learn our field apps — LMN, Geotab, WhatsApp, uAttend, and SiteDocs (training provided).


• Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused, with strong attention to detail.

Assets (nice to have — not required)

• Previous crew-leader experience.


• Hard-surface herbicide certification, or willingness to be trained and certified.


• Trailer towing and load-securement experience (ratchet straps).

Compensation & Schedule

• Wage: Based on experience and certifications.


• Schedule: Spring through fall, with day-to-day assignments varying by crew and site need.


• Employment Type: Year-round — landscape maintenance in season, switching to winter snow & ice operations.
