Rate of Pay: $34.59 - $34.59 per hour plus 15% in lieu of benefits

Hours of Work: As and when required - Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings teaching group classes and personally training clients.

Summary

This position will deliver high quality group fitness classes that meet the needs of our diverse community on the Saanich Peninsula.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

The incumbent must have the skill to plan a safe and effective fitness class that is both motivating and challenging for the participants.

They must also have the skill to incorporate choreography to music and utilize various exercise apparatus such as balls, tubes, bands and light-weights into the lesson plan if necessary.

The instructor must follow all policies, procedures and standards of Panorama Recreation and the CRD.

Key Skills & Abilities

Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills are required.

Ability to instruct a variety of classes including Hi Lo Choreography, Step, Total Body Conditioning, TRX, HIIT and Spin (indoor cycling).

Customer service and public relations experience.

Qualifications

None

Certifications

Acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent is required to undergo a criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment.
Fitness Leader Certification (BCRPA or equivalent)
Standard First Aid and CPR-C
