The Director of Business Development is responsible for leading the Sales Team to meet or exceed the sales targets. The role is responsible for a budget that pertains directly to the department, this includes establishing proper expense forecasting as well as recommending sponsorship opportunities and budgeting. This role develops regional sales strategies and enhances dealer relationships. You will collaborate with Originations and Customer Accounts teams to ensure consistent product delivery and provide market feedback to senior leaders and executives. accordingly.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Direction
Assist in developing of national strategic sales plans and tactics based on company goals promoting sales growth.
Participate in the planning process for establishing revenue targets for the country in collaboration with the Head of Auto and VP of Operations
Participate in high-value industry events to build and maintain relationships in different regions.
Operational Excellence
Reviewing KPIs and setting targets for various operational metrics as directed by the Head of Auto
Establish performance standards/plans for each sales team member annually and regularly evaluate performance of sales team members.
Performance Monitoring
Ensuring team and individual scorecards tie into overall company objectives
Ensure acquisition and application volume objectives are met, reviewing strategies on a continual basis with Operations.
Team Leadership
Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement among departmental managers and staff.
Support the professional development of team members to build a high-performing and motivated workforce.
Provide leadership, coaching, guidance and feedback to develop the skills and performance of the sales team; identify and address sales team training needs implement and monitor development plan
JOB KNOWLEDGE / WORK EXPERIENCE:
University degree, College Diploma, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 10 years of sub-prime sales experience
Minimum of 5 years in management
Strong understanding of the automotive financial services industry and regulatory environment
