About Potash and the Jansen Project
The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.
Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. To find out more about Potash and the Jansen project, click here.

About the Role
BHP is seeking an experienced and strategic technical leader to join the Jansen Stage 2 (JS2) Project as Head of Technical. Reporting to the JS2 Project Director, this role will provide leadership across Engineering, Operational Technology (OT), and Technology functions to ensure engineering design and execution support the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of one of the world's most significant potash developments.
The Head of Technical is responsible for driving technical excellence across the project by integrating plans and activities across functional boundaries, providing engineering governance and assurance, and overseeing both EPCM service provider performance and BHP self-performed technical scopes. The role plays a critical part in ensuring engineering solutions enable safe construction, successful commissioning, and operational readiness while maximizing value and managing risk.
