RhynoCare is seeking an experienced HealthCare Aide (HCA) to work in Long Term Care facilities in Red Deer, AB. You will be hired and onboarded with RhynoCare as an Independent Contractor.

Responsibilities
Observe, document, and promptly report changes in residents' physical, emotional or cognitive status to the primary nurse to support ongoing assessment and care planning
Complete all documentation on time, and in accordance with corporate policies, ensuring that it is both current and accurate.
Assist resident with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, toileting, and feeding, while promoting dignity and independence.
Assist in the safe transfer, positioning, and mobility of residents using proper techniques and equipment, and in accordance with facility policies
Provide care in accordance with the Alberta HCA Competency Profile (2018), best practices, corporate policies, and procedures.
Participate in agency risk management program related to resident care.
Participate in quality improvement program related to resident care.
Participate in new staff/student mentoring as assigned and promote educational opportunities to enhance their education.
Participate in departmental, Interdisciplinary Team and resident safety meetings.
Promote good understanding and teamwork between shifts, registered and unregulated staff
Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including:
Use all equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
Follow established safety procedures for lock outs.
Wear proper safety equipment and PPE when necessary.

Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Proficient verbal and written English communication skills.
Ability to speak a second language is considered an asset.
Must meet one of the following criteria:
Successful completion of an approved HCA Certificate from Licensed post-secondary educational institution. OR
RN/LPN students with successful completion 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program
Proof of enrollment in the Alberta HCA Directory
Experience working as a Facility HCA is considered an asset.
Compensation
Pay: $27-30/ hour (depending on experience and assignment)
